That evening Kathy and Kerry and I went to the Pavillion, a small community theatre to see a one woman show. It was pretty good and its always interesting to see all the locals out and about. During intermission I went outside and sat at a picnic table to cool off and check my messages. A scraggly hippie type couple about my age came out and stood over a ways. They both lit up cigarettes. At one point I heard her say "Wow!! Out of all those people here we are the only smokers!" We have come a long way!
On Wednesday I was doing all my business, paying bills etc. I was checking my Master Card bill for July/August. There was a charge to Tom Lee music (Richmond) for 5,450 bucks and no credit showing it coming back. When we bought my keyboard, we noticed an order that we didn't order go through for 5,450. Somehow their website glitched. It was for two different keyboards.
So Monte phoned them immediately and emailed to have it cancelled. Which they did. We didn't receive two extra keyboards but clearly they did not credit my card back. So suffice it to say, two to three hours later, and about fifty phone calls, I finally got it settled. To complicate matters I had had that credit card cancelled so they couldn't just credit it back to that number. Oh blast it!!! Its all complicated and annoying but I was successful in the end.
Yesterday I went with Kathy and Kerry to the airport and drove their car back home for them. They are off on their adventure to the eastern block and parts of Europe. They were flying to Berlin. I just about envied them but not really. I am happy to stay home for a while. Bill and I had averaged about three trips a year so home is kind of comfy at the moment.
And now today I was up by four in the morning. And my feet, both of them, were numb. No feeling. It was scary. I couldn't walk properly. After a course of pounding on them and waving them violently about, I got them to feel again. These pills I am on are wreaking havoc on me!
Today was doctor going day. And thats a crazy process. You have to drive down there between 8 and 9 in the morning and make an appointment for after twelve noon that day. Then you go home and come back later. So I left at around 8 and drove down there only to find out he took today off. So now this means I won't be seeing him for yet another week. I could either have a heart attack or stroke out by then. Oh well. I have done my bucket list and can die happy.
Then, on the way home I stopped at nature's fare store. Its kind of grocery and health food store. I needed stuff for my bread I am making again, like lecithin and gluten, and I needed a couple of tomatoes. (not for bread but for eating) Found it all but the freaking tomatoes, and they were not the best, kind of over ripe, were five bucks a pound!! That store is so over priced! I like to support local small business but thats just a tad too much. One litre of 2% milk was four bucks. But they had my lecithin!
Then I went to the bulk store. Between the bulk store and the dollar stores you just shouldn't shop anywhere else. I loaded my buggy up...flours, soaps, peanut butters, canister jars, powdered soup mixes, stuff for impromptu desserts, cereal, cherry blossoms (I was so excited to see these I bought six) the buggy was full. And, I got up to the till and guess what? Debit/ credit wasn't working. CRAP!!! (shovel list)
So I dashed out to my jeep and drove over to to the bank and whipped in to use the machine. And my card would NOT go in!! After several futile attempts, an old dude behind me stepped up and showed me that I was putting it in the wrong place, that it goes where the bright green flashing lit slot is. Pure humiliation. So after I purchased my purchases, I came home. And now I need to go unload my jeep. There are about a hundred bags in there to be unloaded and dispersed.
Well thats it for today. Clare I am going to call you tomorrow about lunch on Tuesday. TTYL

ReplyDeleteI like that Sante Fe pot... I might want it. But first I need to ask my friend with taste if it will suit my house! Alas I was born with no taste. I am stylistically-challenged! The only thing I know how to match is my hockey jersey to my hat.
