I thought I would be on here sooner! Its been a pretty hectic week or two since getting back. There is always so much to catch up on and jet lag to get over and all the bill paying and banking etc...
Mostly though I was getting ready for Kevin and Tandy to arrive with the kids. And..since we made the plan to head north on the 14th, it seriously curtails the amount of time for everything. The first thing on my list was to get my hair done. It takes sooooooooooooooo long. My hair is pretty curly on its own so I decided to just get the top part permed. Now I look like I have a fuzzy poof on top of my head and a curly poof at the back. I am reduced to wearing my visor.
And there was no time to get my front teeth fixed. The one that I crazy glue back on to the plate is crooked, (I didn't get it back on just right and it stuck before I could fix it) and the plastic around the tooth is deteriorating and it permanently looks like I have half a chicken stuck in my teeth. The other front tooth is a crown that keeps falling out, sometimes right in the middle of a sentence. Boink! and I have to quickly catch it before it hits the floor. So annoying. The only way to keep it in is with fixident, which works but only for a few hours. Sometimes I forget to refresh the stuff and the tooth just falls out. You wouldn't believe the ridiculous places I have had to suddenly fix a front tooth. I carry crazy glue and fixadent with me everywhere I go. "Sigh" good thing I am not proud.
I cleaned the house and we went for drives and coffee...Bill's favourite thing. Now that I am doing the driving he is REALLY enjoying it! And I spend a great deal of time looking for things. Right now I cannot find the scrapbook from the girls retreats (its there, I just can't lay hands on it) and a certain gift I bought for David, whom I shall be seeing in a couple of weeks up north. Stuff like that nags at the back of your head and it drives me crazy (er).
The kids arrived on the 7th and Cookie and her sister Penny came over. I was so happy for Cookie to see Fenton and Elise! And for Penny to see Kevin...she used to babysit him when he was a baby. They made subjit (potato and cauliflower) and curried chicken. It was soo goood!!! and sooooo appreciated and totally raised the bar for future Indian cooking I do! What a fun fun day!
The next day after a quick trip to Superstore, I cooked and got ready for a family bbq. It was great too. Some of the family were meeting Aryn's new squeeze whom we really really like. Lots of wine, thank you April, and steak and laughter and red velvet cupcakes, thank you Aryn.
