BANANA BREAD TRAIL

It is still Saturday as I start this post.  I am so tired I can hardly see straight.  We had such an awesome day today.

We left around nine thirty this morning up past Lahaina and on to Honolua Bay…THE snorkelling bay on this Island.  Spod and I stayed in the car whilst Cookie went for the walk through the part we call Jurassic Park followed by the kids on their way to snorkelling.  After a while I followed but…my stupid camera crapped out…again.

Over the past few months, every now and then, after the beep to show that its all focused and ready, it just won't click…take the picture.  If I hit the view pics button it tells me there is no card in it.  YES THERE IS!!!!  Usually as I screw around with it I can get it going again, but not today.  So I am packing it away, and am using Spod's (shovel list).  Its a nice little camera but there are things about it I don't like.

After the kids snorkelled for a while they came back to the car, after Cookie and I got completely soaked by an unexpected downpour on the way back.  Right through to the skin.  We got the seats wet in the car, just from the rain.

We then stopped at the blow hole and the kids minus us adults hiked it down there and took pics and enjoyed the pretty active blow hole.  It is just so beautiful out there.  But I have to admit that there are no bathrooms and….I needed one.

Man…how many times has this happened and ever since that episode in the Ukraine in the submarine tunnels I have become quite paranoid..and that just makes it worse.  And right at the blow hole spot there are soooo many people crawling all over the place.

Finally though it was either find a place or wreck the car (and my already battered dignity).  So I stuffed my pockets full of paper and sauntered nonchalantly off around the little hill and over there and across the rocks and into ever increasingly high grasses towards a very prickly bushy area.  Of course I was wearing a flashing white blouse.  Finally I got into a very bushy difficult spot, glanced around, saw no one and very very quickly did what I had to.  Just as I climbed out of the bush a couple strolled by, suspiciously glancing my way.  I pretended to be very interested in the flowers growing right there at my feet.  I hope this happens to other people too and not just me.

We then drove on to Lorraine's Banana Cream Pie place.  We go there every time.  Cookie has especially made a connection with her.  We had called her this morning to reserve us a pie…and she had.  So we sat in her lovely back yard and ate pie, yummy lovely pie.    Then we moved up the road to Julie's Banana Bread…the green one…the one we always go to.  I bought six breads…which we will freeze.  So delicious!

Our next stop was Costco.  We zipped around, bought for real boogie boards, and made our way home to cook a rib dinner.  After dinner it became very quiet and as I looked around each one of us was on a laptop of some sort.  So funny.  Now its time to go to bed.  I am so tired and I apologize for bad grammar of TMI!!!
