Now…Spod. He is definitely not himself. He thinks he is all back to normal, and for sure he is much better than he was. But when I checked his blood yesterday it was still at 20 and thats after eating really well for a couple of days. I don't think his medication is working. He has these really fuzzy, dizzy, can't think straight spells and I am sure its his blood sugar. He now and then acts very much like he did that time I had to phone an ambulance a couple of years ago. I really wish he was at home so I could take him in. Right now he is off to Walmart to get the oil changed in the car. He took off before any of us were up and dressed and could go with him. Hopefully he comes back!
We have had a couple of really full good days. Spod and I went out to Costco and Home Depot shopping a couple of days ago. Loaded up on supplies again! The kids spent time over at the pool and then they took off somewhere…can't remember where. Yesterday we drove out to the edge of the earth. It is unbelievably green! They have had more rain in the last 3 months than in all of the last 13 years put together. It was just strange to see it all green like that. And it felt so so good to get out there again.
We stopped at Grandma's Coffee place on the way and got awesome huge delicious sandwiches to go. I drove out there, first time for me, and Myles drove back. Its a really fun road to drive. It takes about an hour and a half from the condo to get to the beach/campground we always go to. And it was pretty empty of people, that is the best part. It feels so isolated and alone out there. Of all the places I have been on this whole planet…this spot is my favourite. I would live out there if I could.
We got back around seven and Myles and April made us dinner AND did dishes! They made the most delicious hamburger and corn on the cob meal. MMMMM…. Tonight we go to the Wailaia Luau. Right now it is raining somewhat. If it rains tonight it will be interesting to see what they do about it. There is definitely no cover! Mmmm…soggy pit pig!
Well, it is now two hours since Spod left. I won't worry just yet. He may have had a little wait. I think this is kind of indicative of how my life is going to be now. I shall worry about him when he is not with me. I would hate for him to have a spell while he is alone. But it seems they only happen when he has been under the weather. We shall see. TTYL

Surely you have travel medical coverage and can go to the hospital with Spod instead of guessing what's wrong? Sounds scary & risky that he's out driving alone... :)
ReplyDeletesome things you can't stop or make him do. He can be very obstinate and stubborn. We have tried very hard to get him to agree to go to a doctor and yes we have insurance. He is a pretty good judge of when he really shouldn't be driving and he doesn't when he isn't well enough. Mostly we do the driving because he is sooooo slow. Drive us nuts!
