STAY AT HOME…I DIDN'T

First, I forgot to mention this week's challenge.  Its keep it clean and keep it green.  You are to keep your house and home clean and get rid of all your toxic chemically cleaning things and switch to a safer greener way of cleaning.  Okay.

Yesterday I was going to stay home and clean etc…the cleaning we did, the staying home we didn't.  April and Myles pitched in and before you knew it the place was done!  Myles vacuumed the whole place, bless him.  When I vacuum I inevitably pitch the freaking thing out the back door.  I hate vacuuming (shovel list) and Myles does it so easily it seems and so well.

Then we decided to go up past Lahaina to Whaler's Village.  With a stop or two here and there, we ended up at the Village around three o'clock.  The village is a touristy spot with all the high end stores and kiosks hawking things from ten cents to ten thousand dollars.  Its right on the beach and there is a tiki type barefoot bar and restaurant on the water…so we ate dinner there and watched the sunset.  Mmmmmmm…so delicious…fish tacos, pulled pork, calamari….cold beer.  What more could one want?  We got home way after dark, driving past the very spot Gordon Campbell was arrested for a DUI!  Hahaha.

Today we WERE heading out to the lava beds but we got waylaid at Tropix, a store Myles is looking into getting a skim board from.  When they didn't have one there we ended up going into Kahului and before you knew it, we were on another day of shopping.  Speaking of which:

Whole Foods….the most ridiculously overpriced, pretentious, useless store I have ever gone to.  The place was full of food I wouldn't ever want and full of snotty pretentious people.  At one point I passed April and she mumbled 'this store is weird'.  I totally agree.

I went in predominantly to get a couple of boxes of scalloped potatoes.  That is one dish I have not been able to best from scratch.  I know when to quit so I only cook it from a box now..and its delicious.

So anyway, I found mac and cheese (actually they called it elbow pasta and cheese creme),  rice a roni ( they called it rice and vermicelli  risotto) and I found a thousand things with either quinoa or couscous, but no scalloped potato.  So I found a person in green and asked.  'Oh no no, we don't carry that kind of processed food here'.  WHAT??  " Well what the hell is the mac and cheese?  And that rice stuff and the quinoa mix?  Chopped liver?"  He gave me some spiel about how the scalloped potato mix has the kind of chemicals that the others don't..blah blah blah.  I immediately put the corn I had picked up back, the ridiculously overpriced tiny bunch of carrots (six bucks for them) back and left the buggy in the middle of the store and walked out.  Sorry to those that shop at whole foods that might be reading this, but your store is insanely overpriced, pretentious and it smells.

We dropped the kids off at the condo and proceeded to Safeway and bought all the scalloped potatoes I could ever want!  Spod and I then went down to our fave parking spot and read the Enquirer that I picked up.  It showed all those famous people with awful bodies…NOT ready for summer.  And we read all the goofy stories and had a hoot.  Finally around five we came home and made dinner.  Now it is bed time!!  TTYL
PLAYING WITH FIRE    MYLES HAD A CAN OF PAM  …  APRIL HAD A CAN OF W40 BUT WE MADE HER PUT IT BACK
