I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER GET TO GO TO COSTCO EVER AGAIN

Well once again Costco was a miss. My debit card was on the floor in a certain person's jeans and got stepped on. It totally destroyed the card. I guess it was sticking up at an angle and got permanently bent in half and cracked. I haven't replaced it yet.

And I do have a Master card. It's a new one. It has the same number but a new expiry date. So I stood in the middle of Costco, onthe phone, calling their stupid number and of course none of it worked. 'We do not recognize that number." Well you sure as f do when you bill me asshats!!!! So I had no way of paying for the groceries. We came home and I went on the Walmart site, ordered everything, and it was delivered here about an hour ago. So there, Costco!!!!!! All because you won't take any other cards. So stupid. I don't like Master card.

But we did get to Horangs.

The food there is exquisite! I spent some time at home before going to read their menu. It is like a ten page book. I love reading menus so I ended up taking two pictures with my phone of what I was going to order. And then at the restaurant | ordered something completely different! The food was awesome but they use a little too much garlic in everything for me. As a result their food all ends up tasting a bit the same, and all of it is sweet. The Koreans must have a type 2 diabetic problem in their country.

I feel like I am failing in the engagement present department! So I found, online, a moon globe that lights up and you can have a picture of whatever in it. So I got a picture of the two of them and LL and it came back the other day and it is awesome!!!! I will put a pic below. It can be switched to a ton of different colours.

Well it's taco Thursday in our house. At least this week it is.

Gotta go get that stuff going. I bought guacamole in little mini servings. So smart!!! No wastage at all!!! Holy Hannah!!!! I just noticed the date. The wedding is exactly one year from today!! This is so much fun!Anyway, enough for today. TTYL

CAN YOU SAY THE F WORD...AT A THOUSAND DECIBELS???

Well the two workmen across the street sure can!!!  I was busy watching judge shows, doing my daily wordle, when I hear men hollering and yelling, mostly using the f word over and over.  So, being THAT neighbour, just in case someone dies, I get up and open my sheers and a window to best hear a wee bit better, and tune in to what is ahappenin' across the street.

Two workmen from different companies are finishing the neighbour's basement.  I do believe the single guy who lives there is either spoofing up his house for the new lady he is bringing home now, or he is going to be selling the place.  And clearly the two workmen do not agree on how to do it.  Holy doodle!!! The older dude came over to his van and gave it an almighty boot in the side of it.  Jeez!!!

Well we are in the middle of wedding planning.  It is so much fun!!!  April is a genius at sussing out the cheapest, yet lovely, way to do things.  I am helping her all I can in any way I can.  Right now I am reading and summarizing response emails to her inquiries to caterers.  She is working flat out at her job, doing double shifts, to earn as much money as humanly possible.  So time is not in abundance.  I love helping out in this way!

We ended up not going to Costco yesterday.  Monday we didn't go because it was closed for Victoria Day.  (the cow...she's been dead for yonks and now interfering with my life.  WHY???). (shovel list). Yesterday Monte was too tired.  (have I mentioned I effing HATE Telus?). So today it is.  It is a beautiful day to go!  Not a cloud in the sky...not a one!!!

Do any of you have streaming non cable or optic stuff?  I bought a Roku and it is sitting in the box still in the junk spot beside my chair.  Every time I think, okay, I am cancelling Telus and setting this thing up, I hesitate for some reason.  I am really an ensconced super stuck in my routine person.  And frankly I do have Netflix, Britbox, Paramount, Prime and Tubi.  And I don't watch any of them.  I go on them and hunt and look and it's like someone somewhere said, 'It's like having a fridge full of stuff you don't eat or want.'  A I do not watch movies.  If I do it's because of someone else or an accident. So I think I shall either sell or gift the Roku and stick with effing Telus.  Anyone want a Roku???

One thing is for sure though, I am def going to cut way back on what I have on there.  I don't need the east early feed, I am going to give up Discovery and Nat Geo.  I watched all the episodes of that airplane crash show.  It has completely traumatized me again and I don't ever want to fly ever again.  I am doing a lot of reading and the tv goes off then anyway.

Well that's it for today.  I shall take pictures of my food at Horang's and post it in the next post.  Today the pics are random and probably repeats. Sorry bout that.  Have a great day...TTYL

A WHOLE WEEK GONE BY

I am going to try something new here.  I am going to exercise my memory abilities.

Sunday:  Ummmmm let me see......Mother's Day, the most important day of the year to me.  I love Mother's Day.  Starboard Grill brunch buffet time!

Monte and I duded up a bit and down we went.  The food wasn't as good this year as last year but it was still amazing.  The whole salmon looked overcooked and dry but it was juicy, just like last year.  I want to ask Brad, the host and chef, how he does that!  I wonder if you can brine a large salmon.  If anyone knows please let me know!

After our brunch buffet we went for a drive out to Teshaat, a native store and gas station.  We love love love that place!!!  You can buy about fifty different Koolaid flavour packets!  We went for a long drive through the forest and fields taking the odd picture.

The rest of the day was chair bound as usual.  I love my chair!!!

Monday:  I was sitting in my chair watching judge shows, a lot like my mother was at this age!  The only difference was I was busy on my tech.  I have an open laptop on my lap, a phone in my left hand and the tv going, now and then dipping into the current book I am reading.  Busy mind, dormant body.  Not good.

In the midst of this bliss there is a knock at the door.  It is the housekeeper.  What???!!!!  I hadn't realized it was this Monday!!!!  My house was def not ready so I had to send her on her way and pay her anyway.  Stupid!!!!!!  (shovel list)

Tuesday and Wednesday:  I sat here for quite a while trying to remember anything significant.  I can't.  Other than taking Flopster out for his walks around the yard and endless pees, not much happened.  We have had an infestation of fruit flies so I have been battling those little suckers (shovel list)

Thursday:  Floppy's Spa Day.  Monte took off with Floppy around 9:30.  The groomer is way out Beaver Creek road.   I talked with him via fb message after he was done.  He loved Floppy!  He agrees with us, Floppy is a sweet sweet dog, if somewhat over exuberant at times.  He learns quick though.  They, Mont and Flop were gone for the whole day, in the woods communing with nature.

And seriously I can't remember the last couple days.  Ange and I did get out to do some QF flyer shopping but that was about it.  Today I am supposed to be doing laundry.  See?....very mundane.  Tomorrow Mont and I are going to Nanaimo.  We need toilet paper so Costco it is.  And we will probably make a stop at Horangs, the best Korean restaurant you could ever visit.

There has been tons of wedding back and forth.  It's hard doing a DIY wedding on an extreme budget.  But they are working super hard at cutting corners and doing things themselves so as not to hire people.  And she is looking at either renting or buying a second hand dress.  I am pretty proud of them!!!!

So thats it for this post.  I apologize for the total lack of interesting things.  Things will be picking up soon though.  One, I must go see the doctor and I ain't looking forward to that one.  I did my A1c and it is there on my computer to see, but I am too scared to look.  It's gonna be a baddie.  Oh well.  Thats it folks til next time.  TTYL

MUNDANE POSTS

I am very grateful for you constant readers.  My posts are anything but scintillating yet you stick with it.  I thank you.

Well the van is back in stellar amazing shape.  Those two tarted that thing up as the British say!  And now Floppy won't ruin the back seat of Smudge.  There is already plenty of hair there from the two times he was back there.

The trip to Nanaimo went by so quickly.  At first it seemed a long way to go for toilet paper.  We got to the predesignated pub and waited for the kids to show up.  I was so excited to see them.  It has been so long since I laid eyes on those two.

They showed up with arms full of flowers, olive oil, a cute wee jar of something special I will mention in the next paragraph!  And they were so happy and smiley and it was just plain joyous to see both of them.

We ordered food and talked and talked.  We all had stories to tell!  Aryn and I went over a few wedding details.  Aryn is the maid of honour and Bradley the best man. Bradley and Aryn are connected to the venue.  Bradley deejays there sometimes and has become friends with the owner and staff.  What a godsend it was to find that place.  It was cheaper than any other place by two thirds and April is totally determined to do this wedding on an extreme budget.  It is going to be a DIY wedding.  Thank goodness she is creative!  Anyway it was fantastic to spend at least a little time with them.

Hunnie.  Honey made from fallen apples by a company called Mindful Füd.  I got a random marketing email outlining their company and their product, Vegan Hunnie.  The gal part of the duo used to have a food delivery service, healthy being the main intent of her food.  But her business location burnt to the ground which totally ended the delivery service business.

So she pivoted and developed the hunnie. They have done an amazing job of marketing as you can buy the hunnie all over BC everywhere.  It's amazing!  Then I noticed the address of the Mindful.  It is on Lynn Valley Road in North Vancouver!!!  Right near our old place.

I drop shipped from Amazon a bottle of apple honey to each one of my kids to try.  I thought it would especially be of interest to the vegan kids in Penticton.

Then I was on the phone to April, gushing about this little successful company, telling her about the jar of hunnie coming her way, when she says, "They are friends of mine!!!  I have that hunnie and I promote it everywhere I can and I take pictures of me using it and post them on instagram."  Well jeez....I couldn't believe it!!!  I want to meet them!!!  And I want that hunnie stocked in our town! And I forgot to order one for me!  Jeez!!

Well down in that bag that Aryn and Bradley brought  with them was the cutest little jar that Aryn had filled with some of that amazing apple hunnie and I gotta tell ya it is beyond delicious.  I like it better than real honey and it costs way less!!!!  You can't beat that.

I hope you were one of the thousands that saw the Northern Lights last night.  They were insane!!!!  April got some amazing pics and so did Monte.  I will try to put some below.  Gotta bounce...have a great day!  TTYL

I HAVE ATTAINED A NEW BOSS

I bet some of you thought I was talking about the dog, whom we have decided to call by his old original name.  He responds to it and seems more comfortable.  But....Floppy?  Stupid unsuitable name.  There is only one thing on him that is floppy, an unmentionable.  But Floppy it is.

But no. He is not the new boss.  My new boss is on my arm.  I did the research and bought the top rated smart watch.  And it wasn't an Apple Watch or one of those 300 dollar specials.  It was a forty dollar humble not that pretty watch.

This sucker does everything except make me coffee.  It does your sleep patterns, oxygen levels, blood pressure, heart rate and......pedometer.  And it's the pedometer that is screaming at me.  I guess fifty steps a day isn't good?  Sigh.  (shovel list)

Yesterday I was into Walmart not once, but twice!  And a Walmart trip entails a LOT of walking so I was happy to go.  I ran around that store fifty times and it is massive.  I was feeling pretty happy with my unusual amount of activity.  So as I settled in for the night I checked my awesome stat...I didn't even hit 2,000!!!  How can that be!!!!  Grrrrrr.....  Dam dam dam!!

Well Floppy is pretty much at the stage where I will be able to safely walk him. I don't want him escaping again and disappearing down the block and gone from sight.  Thank god for decent people who found him and brought him back to us.  Embarrassing.  But it is time to walk him.  He will be pretty easy unless he spots a cat, or a dog, or a human, or a squirrel, or a moving blade of grass.

I have a lot of things coming up.  Tomorrow I sit down with new insurance people.  I am moving my insurance to a local place.

Remember the water damage and mould fiasco a couple months back?  Well it was cheaper for me to fix whatever it would be than try to find out definitively what the cause was.  It has completely stopped anyway.  I cancelled the whole thing.  But as I was forming the email doing just that, my agent got hold of me and said because of the unfinished 'claim' they would not renew me.  Have said before that I hate insurance companies, all of them, and I hold them all responsible for anything and everything that can go wrong with anything that goes wrong in the world.

So new place and I have a book of questions and requests.  I am sure the last customer they wanna see walk through their door is a customer that has a 1.2 million dollar fire under their belt.  Oh well!!!

I am going to Nanaimo on the 8th.  Our van is coming home!!!  The kids are bringing it home and we are meeting them at the ferry to pick it up.  Thank goodness.  No Floppy in the car!!!  He is as hairy as they come!

On Mother's Day Monte is taking me out to the Starboard Grill for a Mother's Day Brunch.  They put on a delicious spread.  It isn't a huge one, just absolutely delicious.  I don't know how they do it but the salmon is juicy!!!!

Then on the 16th Floppy is scheduled for a spa day, way out in the boonies in a kind of dog patchy area.  Either I am taking him or Monte is.  If it's me I am taking Ange with me for protection.  I have seen that lady in action.  She could beat down a bad guy way better than I ever could!!!  I asked her and she kindly said yes!

Okay I am worn out just typing all that and thinking about all those days I have to get dressed.  (shovel list). So I am putting a comma in it here as me Ma used to say.  Stay happy people!!!  TTYL
