I decided that I would rather have my backsplash painted than have it tiled, preferably a copper colour. Aryn found some metallic paint and brought home some paint chips. We decided on the right one and so far they have painted the primer, not the actual metallic paint yet. And I freaking LOVE the colour. What a difference it makes!!! It makes it so homey and pretty.
I got a little further with the decorations. But I still have to get the tree. Hopefully I will find one that isn't too big. Tall and skinny! Thats what I like!! Its been so much fun finding just the right thing and putting it together.
I also caved in and bought some curtains. All the windows have blinds on them..except the sliding doors between the living room and dining room. Now that winter is here the sun has dropped lower in the sky and beats into the whole living area, from fireplace to kitchen sink. And no matter how cold it is outside it gets so hot in the house. I can close the blinds but the sun beats in the sliding doors. So for the first time in yonks I bought enough curtainage to cover the sliding doors. And they're colour is vanilla delight…the same as every major wall in this house. I can't wait to see what it is going to look like.
Anyway I am sure you could give two hoots about my curtains and shopping etc. Not much else happened to report. So I am going to put two pics here of the kitchen. No counters yet and not the final paint job. But it gives a good idea.
