ONE MORE

Another stellar day.  My bathroom up here is no longer a depressing grey blue.  I love the colour vanilla delight.  I have managed now to paint almost everywhere that colour.  Stepping into the bathroom now is kind of like stepping inside a rich vanilla ice cream cone…(just as flipping cold too)

I also have curtains up in the living room over the sliding doors.  Its so cozy!  I always felt curtains to be claustrophobic but actually it is kind of nice.  I'm surprised.

A great portion of today was spent helping a poor frantic Aryn get the final papers together for this very temporary mtg/loc I am getting to complete the purchase of the Kamloops house on the 11th.  Geez just as you thought you had given them everything except your seventh born, the phone would ring and there would be one more thing.  And to get that one more thing meant delving into boxes here there and everywhere, holding your breath, perusing a thousand pieces of paper, trying to think like Spod, and when all else fails, call the accountant/lawyer/your momma.  And then at the last moment, ten to fivish, we are told we need an appraisal by tomorrow evening.  Suuuurre…we'll get right on that (shovel list).  But we did and an appraisal will be done tomorrow just in time.  Its been crazy.

I am putting in one more poem I wrote.  It was the Christmas we were in Maui and not at home.  I am putting this one in just to get y'all in the mood!  TTYL

EVE

Twas the night before Christmas
and in every room of the house
a heaving mess to clean
and where is my spouse?

asleep in his big and comfy bed
not a worry floating in his head
so I grab a bucket and water I fill
hold it over his head and let it spill

Get up I holler and give me a hand
Just who are you you miserable man
I handed him a rag and the empty pail
I don’t care if you are a male

wash the floors and down the stairs
when you are done you can wipe the chairs
I wrapped the presents and filled the socks
went around the doors and flipped the locks

Then we checked on each of the boys
sleeping fitfully, dreaming of toys
then we check on each of the girls
looking so sweet, little faces amidst curls

We then took ourselves off to bed
all worn out but ready , we said
In the morning we will hear the boisterous shouts
of joy and glee as paper is flung about.

another christmas another year
passes by with wonderful cheer
that night we sleep with no fear
we are ready to do it again next year
