I am hitting the road again on Tuesday. Cookie and I are leaving on Thursday for the Oregon Coast. I will be blogging and posting pics along the way. Actually both of us will be posting. Temporarily we are going to rename this blog "Two Broads and a Jeep". We haven't made any hotel reservations so it should be interesting. We are taking emergency bedding just in case we have to sleep in Tank. I snore like a banshee so I just might be sleeping out on the ground.
One time Bill and I went to the Island to go fishing. We got there super late in the night and decided to sleep in the truck. Well about an hour into it I booted him out onto the ground with a sleeping bag...his snoring was insane. The next morning when we woke up he was sleeping about six inches from the biggest pile of dog poo you ever saw. Hahahahaha!!!! He never could smell well. Hahaha!
I have had to reassess my clothes. I have two trips coming up...the one with Cookie and later in August one to London and Paris with April and Myles.
I hauled out my old shorts from last summer. I thought I would wear those for the Oregon trip and save my new shorts for Paris. Yesterday I pulled on a pair of the oldies to wear. And I walked from the bathroom to my tan purple room and they literally fell right off..pants on the ground. Unless I get a bungie cord or some binder twine those shorts from last year aint going to cut it. Damn!!!
Its funny when you are fat, even when you lose 30 pounds, you still feel fat. You don't feel like you have gone down any size at all. Clearly I have. It doesn't show to the visible eye but it does show up in inches. Now I have to reassess it all over again.
Stan is so well mannered. I mean seriously! Everyday he makes his bed. Not just a throw over, but no wrinkles, tight bedspread. He keeps his room all neat and tidy. And not only does he put the toilet seat down, he closes the lid too!! What guy does that?
But....Wrangler isn't too happy about it. He drinks out of the toilet. When he drinks out of a bowl he gets water all over the floor so I make him drink out of the toilet. (Oh come on..its clean people!) But now the seat is always down. He stands there and rests his head on the toilet lid and doesn't move. I finally notice he has disappeared and when I find him he is looking all sad, head on toilet seat..kind of whimpering. Jeez! But I haven't the heart to tell Stan. He is displaying unusually amazing bathroom manners...for a guy!
He took me out for dinner the other night. We went to Dorians...the local Greek eatery. Its an older somewhat rundown place down on main street. The waitresses are older seasoned women. Stan is a lot like Bill...talks to everybody. As a result we met and visited with a family from Australia. We met a couple of teenagers. We became friends with the waitresses, the owner and other patrons. It was fun. And we came home with enough food to feed ten people. Boy do they ever feed you. We got the greek platter....calamari, huge perfectly cooked prawns, chicken souvlaki, greek ribs, greek salad, greek rice, greek potatoes...and on and on. Mmmmm.
Well I just got back from the lake...kamloops Lake. Kathy and crew were out there for the day so I went out to join them for a while. The girls are in town right now and so good to see them. Later we shall have dinner up at kathy's. But I am cooking it here. Kathy provided a lovely huge ham which is roasting in the oven here as we speak. I shall be making a huge batch of mac and cheese, horseradish coleslaw, peas and peapods in sesame oil and flax seed buns. I think Kathy has cherries for dessert. Yum!!!
So I am going to sign off and I shall post again before I leave. Then Cookie and I shall be posting together as "Two Broads and a Jeep" TTYL
