WE FINALLY WENT THERE!

Such a day!!  We actually got our butts moving early enough to get to the lavender farm.  It is so truly beautiful up there.  The moment you get out of the car, you are washed with the aroma of lavender wafting in the air.    The sun was shining and the birds were singing and there weren't too many people there.  The girls were so happy and loved every inch of the place.  At the end of our walk around we sat out on the deck overlooking the enormous expanse that is Maui, drank lavender coffee (weird but delicious), lavender scones, had birds land on my hand to get a tidbit, bought all manner of things lavender and just generally had a fantastic time.

Its funny how they brought umpteen dresses with them.  I kind of warned them that they should wear rougher "get dirty" clothes, but they want to look fabulous in pics in the lavender farm.  And then, they step in mud, spill lotion on their dresses, squish lilikoe (passion fruit) on their shirts, spill jelly from a scone down their front..etc.... So funny!  But...they look fantastic in their pictures!!

We then headed for the winery with a quick detour up to see Oprah's house.  We stopped at Gramma's Cafe, a very very rustic place, for a sandwich lunch.  Such delicious food.  On to the winery and poor Jess got so car sick.  Hana Road??  I don't think so, not for her.

We stayed a while at the winery.  I ended up buying a whole case of wine!  It really is delicious wine.  We also spent a little time in the general store.  At least April and I did.  Bill just stays in the car...everywhere...he is reading a really good book.  Eithne and Jess got distracted by a cat, of all things, so Ape and I ended up in the store together.  She was being bad and making me laugh so hard.  She really is a handful that girl.

We had planned on going further but Jess was just getting too sick so we turned around and headed to Makawao (cow town).  They went up and down the one main street and did more shopping.  April and I had gone ahead and poor Jess and Eithne got trapped in the store where Oprah bought the last dress that was the one I wanted (bitch) with the old eighty year old French lady that works there.  That woman could talk anyone into a coma.  The girls need to learn how to extricate themselves!!!  We stopped at whole foods on the way home and the kids bought the stuff needed to make dinner.  Meatballs and spaghetti!!   Mmmmmmm

BAD GIRL

FROG FACE

CAN YOU SEE THE BIRD ON MY HAND

SHE POSED WITH THE CARDBOARD CUTOUT OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE GARDEN....
So now here I sit in a condo that looks like a freaking tornado hit it, not once, not twice but three times. The kitchen is a disaster I am listening to three girls out on the lanai, eating in candlelight, passing their cameras around killing themselves laughing.  Seriously, I don't think I endlessly laughed like that, ever, in my whole life.  I just can't figure out what they find so blasted funny ALL THE TIME!!! They are 24, not 14. But I am not complaining..its great to hear happy.  Tomorrow...well its a surprise...I will blog about it if they survive!  TTYL
