AHHHHHHHH........

hedonism |ˈhēdnˌizəm|nounthe pursuit of pleasure; sensual self-indulgence.• the ethical theory that pleasure (in the sense of the satisfaction of desires) is the highest good

A few years ago I was helping Monte with a poetry assignment.  One of the poems was about supreme hedonism.  I never forgot that word but have never used it either.  Until now.  But only in Maui.
The pursuit of only making ourselves happy, however it may play out, is the only concern here in Maui.  If we want to eat, we eat, if we want to drive around, we drive, if we want to swim, we swim, if we want to do absolutely nothing, we do nothing.  And the only hard part is trying not to feel guilty about being so self indulgent.  But I am getting over that really fast!!!
I haven't blogged because there really hasn't been much to say.  The flight over was so uneventful that they didn't have to put on the seat belt sign even once.  We have made friends (sort of) with a couple that own a taxi, neighbours nearby.  So we call them ahead of time and one of them is there waiting for us.  Our luggage always arrives.  The condo was beautifully clean (thanks Cheryl and Tanisha!).  And of course first thing in the morning we were off to Costco, Kmart and Walmart.  What more could one want?!!
The last couple of times here in Maui, I was purposely taking pictures to create a book.  The book was for Mom.  This time Cookie, she will be here later in the year, and I are going to make the quintessential coffee table book.  Its a lot more fun hunting down THE picture when you have a goal in mind.
One bit of excitement...out at Turtle beach, we were both "reading" (actually sleeping) in our car, facing out to the spectacular ocean and surfers.  We were both suddenly awakened by loud voices.  Rescue people were organizing a quick rescue of a surfer gone missing out beyond the surf.  They pulled these weird mini type sea doos off a wagon and zoomed out to hunt.  They were still hunting when we left.
Sorry this is so boring.  I promise things will pick up!!  It always does...TTYL
