ON MY MIND

I am just going to randomly blog all day long, off and on!  Its all snowy outside and warm and comfy in here and there are just a few things( of absolutely no importance) ratting around in my head.  So here goes.....

JEWELRY   See?  No importance at all but....I have an extraordinary amount of jewelry.  A tiny bit of it is important and pricey but mostly its just junk that I happen to like.  I spent one whole trip we went on, hunting for earrings in every port.  I have had  "chain by the inch" necklaces made to fit my big old neck. Then I spent many a time hunting up pendants to go with them.  And then...I spend an awful lot of wasted time looking for them in the house.  I lose them, misplace them, put them in about five different places, break them in the bottom of purses etc.....

The other day we went to Costco and lo and behold there was a beautiful mahogany jewel box.  And..it was only 59 dollars...unheard of!  So I snatched one up and bought it and brought it home.  I set it up and gathered up all the jewelry I have found in my cleaning out endeavours over the last couple of weeks.  I started to organize, prioritize and put them in the case.  I could only get about one third of it all in there!!  Back to Costco and bought another one.  Into that I put the secondary jewelry.  And I still have some left over that will go into other containers I have used in the past.  But....the thing is I very rarely wear jewelry.  Even if I can find it, I don't take the time to put jewelry on.  I almost never wear it all yet I keep adding to the pile.  I went to a jewelry party the other day and bought even more!  Stupid!

SHOWER CURTAINS:  This is not something you skinny people know about.  When you are large, wet and blinded by shampoo and water...the shower curtain is not your friend.

The first thing that happens is a wet shower curtain slaps itself, actually suctions itself to your wet ass as you turn around.  It then follows you as you complete your turn.  Not being able to open your eyes you can only act upon feel.  So you swipe the damn thing off your self, and inevitably push it out too far thus pulling the ends of the curtain into the tub to stick to other parts of yourself.  Now no matter which way you turn it is pulling into the tub and tightly wrapping itself around you.  As you try to free yourself you suddenly hear a loud clank and you feel cold air.  Obviously the damn thing has now fallen right off and water is spraying all over your bathroom.  By the time you get yourself sorted out the bathroom is soaked, the curtain is a tangle mess on the floor and you have shampoo covering your hair and running down your body.  So bleeping annoying!

LAUNDRY:  I keep forgetting to put the load in the dryer.  Last week I put a load of whites into the washer.  Then forgot it til the next day.  When I noticed, I put in soap and ran it again.  And forgot it.  The next day I noticed and put in soap and ran it again.  Then forgot it.  I think that load got washed about six times before I remembered to put it in the dryer.  I do this ALL THE TIME!  I think its hard on the clothes.

BILL'S SNEEZING:  I know this is not his fault.  I get that.  But just because its not his fault doesn't make it hunky dory that it should become a problem of mine too.  Lets do a little math:  average of 25 sneezes per day (and that is a very very low estimate)   25x7=175.   175x52=9,100.  9,100x26=236,000.  .  Yup!!  About a quarter of a million times I have had to listen to him sneeze and sneeze and sneeze, and also blow his nose, over and over and over.  My original sympathy ran out a long long long long time ago.  I don't know how he has any brains left.

Okay thats enough whining for one day.  I'll be back tomorrow!!  I will understand if you are not.  TTYL!!

SORRY FOLKS...

Wow, its been a while.  Nothing much has happened and I won't be juicing again til next week.  So I kind of forgot to blog.  But now that I am here I shall catch you up.

I am not sure where I left off.  I think I had just come back from Kamloops.  Since then I managed to sort out more cupboards, fill more garbage cans, go to a jewelry party where I bought awesome jewelry!!  I have packed my suitcase for our trip to the island this weekend and I bought not one but two coats.  And they were ninety bucks each!!

I popped into the fat lady store, looking for black dress pants and a light raincoat.  Neither is findable in my world.  I just simply do not fit pants (ask Aryn I took her with me once and by the end of the shopping trip she had to agree) and the stores here almost never stock coats, at least not the kind I like.

I dropped Bill off at Starbucks and sauntered down to the store.  As I perused the merchandise, I noticed a rack of new coats, light, airy, car coat length, with a hood, somewhat waterproof and in my size.  Oh my god!!  I tried on the dark navy blue one and it fit perfectly, isn't hot and camouflages the fat bump on the top of my back.  Then I tried on the burnt orange version and instead of angsting over which colour to get,  I bought both!  I wear my coats for years and years til they wear out so I wasn't too freaked out about the expenditure.  I am a happy camper!!

Oh and we also bought a scion!  We got a reasonable trade in price for the infinity and so we did it.  We even picked the same colour as the one in Maui.  We get it next week when we get back from the Island.  Yay!!!

THIS IS THE ONE WE BOUGHT IN MAUI...WE GOT THE SAME ONE HERE

OUR MOLLY DOGGY, OR CEREBRALMOLLY AS THE KIDS CALL HER
This weekend I get to see my boys.  It has been four months since I saw them last.  I think that is the longest I have ever gone without seeing one of my kids.  I am excited and am also really looking forward to seeing the grandkids.  There will be lots of pics.  I will blog each night or morning now.  TTYL

BEEN A WHILE

Well, its been a while.  Last Friday we picked up Dorothy and headed up to Kamloops.  The roads were pretty wicked but fortunately for all Bill is an ace driver in the snow and ice, even though he is 78.  We stopped in Abbotsford at the Snitzel House for dinner and it was delicious.  I think Dorothy was a little skeptical...she wasn't sure about exactly what Snitzel was.

We had a great weekend.  Kathy's new house is absolutely magnificent.  I think she truly is in her dream house.  This the first time I am seeing her really decorating and really wanting to make the very best choices.  Not that she didn't care before, but this house definitely deserves the best and she is seeing to it that only the best is bought!  The view is incredible.

It was so good to see Mom again.  She was in great form.  Stan was there too and we sat around a little seating area they have there and visited and gave her presents and had some good laughs.  We then went down to the piano area and all took a turn.  The piano has always been such a centre of our visits.

Back home on Monday morning, firstly dropping Dorothy off at her new place and helped her move a bit more into her place.  She has moved into an apartment in one of those old school retro apartment buildings in Vancouver.  Fantastic place!  I will include some pics at the end here.

Since then I have been cleaning and cleaning and cleaning.  I just got tired of the garbage cans and containers of cardboard all over the place.  I still have a number of cupboards to go but it sure feels better in here.

The leg broke off  my old schooly piano bench.  That is what I used to put my laptop on.  So it is sitting safely in purple room waiting to be fixed.  This morning, needing a little table, I stepped out into the back yard to get a little iron pretty one from the back lawn/garden area.  I came back in, stopped in the kitchen to wipe it down and brought it over to my chair.  I turned around to go get a coffee and noticed a dirty trail of something from the back door.  I look down and my left boot was three inches deep dog crap.  I couldn't believe it!  I only took about five steps out the back door.  Jeeeez!!!  After these two I am done with dogs.  I never was too fond of dogs to begin with.  Don't get me wrong, I dearly love the ones we have had but .....  I am so through with the crap and dog hair.

And...Monte broke the top of the handle on my swiffer, just before he left at Christmas.  In fact I was on the phone with him when he broke it.  So the curved part at the top of the handle is hanging by the electric wires that fires up the spray part.  Washing the floor now involves three hands.  One to push, one to hold it together and one to spray.  Doesn't work.  I tried duct tape but that didn't work.  I'm buying a new one (that one had been used twice).

WE WERE BENG DISRESPECTFUL TO OUR MOTHER!

SHE PLAYED A NUMBER OF HER PIECES, ONCE THE FIRST FEW NOTES KICKED IN SHE WOULD REMEMBER THE REST

THIS IS DOROTHY'S FRONT DOOR AND MAIN SHARED AREA OF HER APARTMENT BUILDING

Juicing again but haven't weighed yet.  Too scared.  Maybe tomorrow!  Right now denial works just fine.  TTYL

SURPRISE ENDING TO THE DAY!!

Two or three years ago, April and Andrew gave me a fantastic birthday present.  They gave me a beautiful card and in that car was a Keg gift card worth 100.00 dollars.  ONE HUNDRED!!  And they were so poor right then.  I was so impressed and delighted and loved it.  And...then I lost it.  I tore this place apart looking, several times over the years.

After about six months to a year I realized it was not going to show up.  I went out  and replaced it and we took them with us and went out to the Keg for a lovely dinner.  End of story.  I never told her.

Today....I found it.  I was cleaning out one of the drawers in purple room and there it was.  I couldn't believe it.  I showed Bill and we decided that a break from the juicing would be nice so we dressed up and off we went and had a fantastic dinner.  Escargot, Chicago charred rare rib steak, baked potato, garlic mash (by accident), onion rings, passion fruit brule, cheesecake and a bottle of See Ya Later wine.  Awesome.  And tonite I came clean with April...she laughed.

Another thing I have been meaning to mention.  I love sleeping with my usual ton of pillows and blankets etc...   But....I like having a small blanket up around my head.  I have always, from the time I was little, liked having a small blanket.

YOU WON'T SEE ME DRESSED UP LIKE THIS VERY OFTEN
 MY BLANKET, ISN'T IT AWESOME?
I have a bff.  An amazing really good one.  She and I have known each other since we were 15 years old.  And, my luck totally, she quilts.  She has made me two amazing quilts.  The big one I keep for company. In my house with dogs, and messy boys etc... I can't just leave it out on the couch to be used.  So it gets taken out on special occasions.  But the smaller one, yup! you guessed it...it sleeps around my head every night and I do believe I am going to start to take it with me to Maui and on our trips.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE my blanket.  I already take a small comfy black pillow I stole from Monte (he paid 5 bucks for it at Zellers) so I think I am going to put it in my suitcase from now on.  Thanks Cookie!!  I love it.  TTYL

STILL ON THE CLEAN OUT

I did not get dressed yesterday.  I pulled on some slippers and went out and dragged in two more giant garbage cans and filled them.  They are full of papers, shoes, old purses (even more that I found) all of Bob's stuff I have decided not to forward to his family, ratty books, old clothes, old sheets etc....  Still such a mess but getting there.

The other day I cleaned out my side of the closet.  The main shelf half way down was totally bared off.  I love it.  Last nite I slid the sliding mirrors over to Bill's side so I could get into my closet and HE HAD PUT HIS SOCKS AND UNDERWEAR ON THAT SHELF!!!!  It wasn't bare anymore.  I had a fit.  I scooped up all his crap and threw it on his side of the bed and told him to throw junk out of his side and use that.  The nerve of him!

I weighed this morning and I am now 251.  Slowly it goes!  I still have to get up and make juice.  I think we also have to get Parker his updated shots so he can go into the kennel this weekend.  TTYL

WHAT'S IN THE AIR?

Things are just a little off and uneasy right now.  I am not sure exactly what it is  but it isn't feeling quite right.  The kids had a pretty rough week last week, lots of "growing" which in the end is good, but in the short term is pretty hard.

I just weighed, with all my clothes on this time because its so cold in this house.  I was 253 which I think means I am back to losing weight..I can't remember.  My ankles and wrists and chins are looking a lot bonier though.  But that could be the cold.

I am slowly working my way through bookshelves, closets, and corners.  I am dragging a giant outdoor garbage can around with me and filling it up.  Man!  I love throwing crap out.  But Bill goes along behind and has a nervous nelly fit when he sees what I am getting rid of.  Honestly he can be so annoying.

I hauled two huge boxes of purses, every purse I have bought in the last ten years, to get rid of them.  As I am going through them, I ended up keeping only one....an older coach purse that still looks new and I might use (for purse junk storage)  So as I emptied all the receipts, coinage, lipsticks, pencils, batteries, paper clips, old mints etc...from the bottom of all the other purses (and a 100 dollar bill from one....don't tell Bill cuz he would kill me) he decides that he is going to put on "the" facebook that we have all these old purses and would anyone like to have them or one.

I had a fit.  Then for the next full five minutes I described to him the difficulty it would be to get these purses to all those people....not that anyone would ever want one.  And there they would sit until they were either all given away or a year from now when he would realize that, no, no one wants old ratty purses.

He is also being totally impractical about the old car.  We are buying a Scion next week.  So do we trade in the old one for 1500 or sell it for 2000?  Well didn't we go around the bend 400 times on that one.  Finally I just said, "you know what?  Do what you want.  I just know that next week I am getting the scion and you can deal with the car.  If you want to sell it go ahead, but I am not doing the craigslist thing, or buy and sell or auto trader...you can do that.  And you can take  all the phone calls and go for the test drives and mechanical inspections.  And you can take care of the transfer papers  etc...I will be out tooting around in my new car."  All you have to do is THINK!

Anyhoo...another day and its time to go make juice.  Off to Costco today for more veggies.  I am beginning to understand how addicts feel.....always having to keep track of the stash and replenishing it in time.  TTYL

DAY SIX, SEVEN-FUN FUN FUN

Where to start?  Friday night.....April and I made cake pops...I say so easily.  I had baked lemon bars earlier in the day but we wanted to take cake pops to Cookie's party.  And...the first batch just simply did not work out.  The cake was gooey and sticky and they split in half...every one of them.  April, in a rage of disappointment ripped them up and threw them in the garbage!  Geeez!!  About a half hour later she was still stressing and wanting cake pops.  So, I found a good recipe for cake on the internet, and we threw it together and voila! it worked perfectly.  Then we decorated, or I should say April did.  I was too nerve wracked by the whole process and left the room, but they turned out beautifully.  I got a picture of the process but I neglected to get a good picture of the finished product.

Yesterday (Sat) morning I got up and made crescent roll appetizers....smoked salmon/cream cheese/pepper/basil ones and cocktail weinee/cheddar/relish/pizza sauce ones.  Mmmmmm  they are so good.  We loaded it all up and took off...forgetting the wine and beer!

The first thing we did when we arrived at Cookie's was to walk over to Pam's to look at rings her daughter makes out of spoons and forks.  They were so awesome, April and I bought five of them!
Then Ape and I ran to the liquor store and back.  And then the fun started!!  Oh My God!!  We laughed til we cried, played goofy games (ending in jello shots whether we got it right or not), pinned the appendage upon a gorgeous male poster that badly needed some embellishment, had a hairy leg contest, and won gifts for random things like wearing green underwear.  We ate til we were stuffed and were basically the last ones to leave.  What a fun amazing awesome time we all had.  I will be randomly posting pics over the next while.  I will apologize in advance for a few of them!!!!

NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE FROM WHAT I CAN SEE!
ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHERS.....

SOME OF US NEEDED HELP WITH THE JELLO SHOTS...WE AREN'T ALL  PROS!
 GO GRAMMA!!!

 GET IT IN THERE PAM!!

Now back to reality.  Juicing again and laying here in bed (12:30) avoiding the mess in the rest of the house.  I will post more pics as the week goes by.  TTYL
