Wow!!! What a perfect day.
It all started this morning with a simple breakfast and a few rounds of Nine Hole and then out to the pool. The water wasn't too cold!! So in we jumped and I swam my half hour which was totally awesome. Cookie and Brian swam around for even longer then we lay in the sun and tanned and visited and just simply pooled. We are going to start each day this way from now on. It was truly glorious.
Back at the condo we packed up a bbq picnic. We played more cards while I made lemon bars. Into the car and off we went to the edge of the earth, Xmas Beach. There were people there, but not too many. The trip out was beautiful and right at Bully's Hamburger place we were suddenly surrounded by cowboys.....lots of cowboys rounding up one little calf. Jeez!! Poor little thing was scared out of its mind.
As we settled into our little chosen spot at the beach, Cookie suddenly spied a giant fire burning up a hill we had just passed a few minutes before. It became huge and eventually a helicopter came and after many buckets of water, got it under control. Deja vu!! This happened last June while we were here.
We walked around, visited with some people, bbqued our dinner and ate and watched the sun go down. As it got dark we piled everything back into the car and headed back to town. There were a ton of firetrucks, firemen, police etc...at the site of the fire. It had been huge....blackened a very large area.
COOKIE VERY KINDLY POSED FOR ME!!
WORK IT....WORK IT!!

Now we are home, full of lemon bars and potato salad and headed for bed. Great day and really looking forward to tomorrow. I have to go get Bill out of the kitchen right now. He is banging around in there and Cookie and Brian are in bed. He is quite deaf and has no idea how noisy he is. Plus he leaves things on TOP of the fridge so I best go check. Sometimes living with him is like living with a two year old!! Always has been. TTYL
