Other than being hungry...again...(but happy to be drinking healthy) today was another awesome day. Drank down some juice this morning, and seriously am out of veggies now, then went out and lay in the sun for a while. The sun isn't very strong at this time of the year. Its hard to burn, which is good. Spent a little time on the phone with Monte. He is heading back to Port tomorrow morning. I sure miss all my kids. Talking to them on a phone or whatever is just not the same.
About 1:30 we thought we smelled burning. So we packed up really quickly and out the door to see if we could find a sugar cane field being burned. But no, there wasn't one. I really want to see a burn. I don't care how un pc it is I want to watch one. You tube sugar cane field burns...it pretty amazing. We decided to continue on down the Hana Road. We left too late to make it to Hana, but we could get out to...ummm...I can't remember the name of the village but it starts with a K and has a lot of vowels in it and is drop dead beautiful. While we were there we spotted a couple of humpback whales cavorting about. I snapped a few shots. I have seen a lot of whales in my time but it never gets old!!!
On the way out we met the emergency fire truck heading back towards Kahalui. A few minutes later a police car went screaming past us, in the direction we were going. Then along came another one. And then another one! We kept on going for about 45 minutes. A white van was dogging us from behind so Bill found a spot to pull over to let him by. When he passed us we noticed a big sign on the van that read Medical Examiner. Now I have watched enough Quincy shows to know what that means. As we drove on we kept our eyes peeled. One by one the emergency vehicles passed us going back. A few minutes after the M E passed, the last one to go, we came across a still smoking extremely burnt out old panel van. There were a few hippies standing around, all teary eyed and shocked looking. I didn't take a picture, it seemed kind of crass. Poor people. I felt bad for them.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS SO FUNNY. THEY DROVE ON THE LEASH TO KEEP HIM THERE! I AM GOING TO REMEMBER THIS TRICK.
So home again and feeling a little cranky. Poor Bill. He is so patient with me bless him. TTYL!!
