Holy Hannah!! what an awesome fun crazy day!! It started at three in the morning. Bill could not sleep and so he eventually out of bed and went out to the kitchen/livingroom area. Good for me, not so good for the girls. Because he is quite deaf he has no idea how noisy he is, and even if he did, I seriously don't think he would care. He rattles bags, drops stuff, gets ice out of the ice machine...and royally wakes up the household. Jeez!!
He eventually went back to bed..then at 7 this morning I was suddenly awoken by a ginger haired little person peering down at me and poking saying"are you awake? are you awake?" So up I got, happily, and came out. Aryn was getting ready to go for a run (she did an 8 mile run in 38 minutes) and we made breakfast.
Around ten oclock we all piled into the car and off we went. We started up past Lahaina at Whaler's Village. We purchased, and looked, and tried on, and tasted, and had fun. As I was getting into the car to leave my camera fell on the ground and broke the filter on the lens. I almost had a heart attack!
We then went to Front Street and actually found a really good parking spot!! After walking and shopping a while we stopped at an awesome on the water restaurant, got a super table and proceeded to have the most delicious lunch. Aryn and I split the most amazing burger: turkey burger, cranberry, bacon, avocado, smoked gouda and the best damned bun in the world. So yummy! We also had tuna tartar on a crispy wonton on a bed of greens. Oh lordy!!! We then went to a few art galleries.
Then we left Lahaina, listened to bouncy happy music as we sailed down the road, spotting lots of whales as we went. We ended up at the Shops at Wailala, an expensive awesome mall, for the rich that is! So we bounced around there, made a few purchases and then went home, stopping at safeway for fresh hot bread. When we got home we made a huge batch of lomi lomi (I had salted the salmon earlier), salad and hot bread. Good wine topped it off and now we are sitting here watching an episode of the Good Wife. Tomorrow the lavender farm and the winery for lunch. Yippee!!! TTYL
