HOT HOT HOT

It is so hot out I feel like I am melting.  This side of the house gets so hot during the morning and then stays that way forever.

Not much to report.  We have gone on a couple of shopping jaunts and picture taking trips.  I am putting together a rubbermaid full of emergency camping stuff...just in case we get stuck somewhere with no vacancies in hotels.  Its been fun!  I can just see us hiding out in Stanley park trying to make coffee on our bunsen burner stovette.

Yesterday we took off up the hill on the old Merritt highway.  At Knutsford we veered off onto Goose Lake Road.  It goes all the way through to Lac le Jeun road.  We stopped along the way and took pictures.  Monte has a tripod and took some pretty awesome video.  It was sooooo hot even the crickets quit.  I love tripping around looking for pictures.  Today, if he ever gets going, we are going to try to go up to Mount Lolo.  I can actually see it way over the valley on the highest peek.  Last time, fifty years ago, with an old boyfriend, we tried but were stopped.  It was still a working radar station back then.  But its been closed for years so we should be able to get up there!

Alice, the crusty awesome housekeeper came yesterday.  And the house is beautiful.  I am so happy.  And she is coming every week.  I am now in her hands!  The place is shiny in places I didn't even know were dirty!  I am so happy!

Well I am going to go and get that kid moving.  I hopefully will get some pics today and will share. TTYL

GRABBING A MINUTE

Busy busy busy!  I have to get back into the swing of posting!  I am finally beginning to feel somewhat back to normal.  I have lost a ton of weight and a ton of muscle.  Gotta start building it all up again.

Monte and I are in the middle of planning a road trip!  We plan to leave on the Tuesday after the long weekend.  Heading straight over to Kevins for a couple of nights.  Apparently they have a fossil bed nearby that they go fossil hunting in.  So I have asked if we could do that one day!  I LOVE fossil hunting!

Then we will head down through Osooyos and onward to Vancouver, maybe cross the border there and head over to Seattle.  I just know we are taking Spod's old huge fish cooler with us and we are ending our trip in Port Alberni.  I will head out to the reserve and make a deal for salmon.  This time of the year it will be coho...my fave next to pinks.  I want to bring back enough for everyone.  Keep up the Heyman tradition!

I finally bit the bullet and hired a housekeeper.  She is going to come every Friday and clean the floors, bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room...65 bucks!!!  Thats crazy!!!!  And I have decided not to feel like a loser when I have a kid and two legs two arms and the ability to clean my own place...but don't want to.  I am so looking forward to it.  She starts this Friday.

But, that being said, this week is going to be a super organize and clean week.  This house is NOT ready for a housekeeper.  And she wants to use the built in vacuum which I have no clue if it even works.  Probably does, given who owned this house previously.  But it means hauling it out and testing it and going out to the garage to see where the canister is blah blah blah.  I like my little meile thank you.  So much simpler.

I have to mention again...I spent 750 bucks on Lyons planting my backyard boxes in colourful perennials.  You should see it back there.  Its just plain pitiful.  Ugly.  No flowers.  At all.  I am NOT happy.  I am going to dig the whole shitload up, throw away the perennials and each year fill the boxes with impatiens and petunias.  It is so ugly back there...my thrown items, like coffee pots and mops don't help much I must say.

Well I have to go let Molly out of the bad dog box.  We caught her going through my garbage again.  One thing about her being deaf, she doesn't hear us sneaking up behind her.  When she does see us she leaps into the air then freezes to the spot.  Stupid useless dog.

I have found an awesome kennel for her for while we are gone.  Its going to cost me 420 bucks for two weeks...stupid dog.  I think Kerry thinks I am insane.  He would just kill the dog.  He told me that.  But it isn't time yet, that final sign hasn't happened, my kids would hate me, and its not her fault she's stuck with me.  So I shall fork out the money and preserve my relationship with my kids.  At least she doesn't bark endlessly like some dogs I know!!!  LOL!!!

Gotta bounce!!!  TTYL

JURRASIC GARDEN

As promised, I am putting some pics of our garden here.  Crazy!!!  I just ate a hidden carrot!

I am also including pics of our dinner with Auntie Orma and Uncle Gordon just before I got sick.  What a lovely lamb dinner with the best rellies in the world!

Yesterday I had the drain taken out, didn't even feel it!!!  I am DONE!!!  Now to move on and take care of Maui.

This afternoon I have an appointment with the notary, giving an american POA to Aryn.  I hope this does the trick.  I just need this whole Maui thing to be over with.  I am so grateful that Aryn has stepped up to the plate to take over.  I am pretty sure its the last thing she needs right now.  In fact she moved yesterday.  Seriously!  Can we load anymore onto her plate?  Jeez!!

Well I have a seriously disorganized house to start on.  I have just put a call in to Alice, Kathy's housekeeper whom I am going to hire to keep this house regulated.  I seem totally unable to do it.  Such a loser.  Sigh.  TTYL

POSTING WHILST KEVIN AND KIDS PLAY POKEMON GO

Well, got home a couple of days ago...and its soooo good.  I don't like being away from my chair!  I still have a drain in but I will be getting that out on Tuesday.  Yippeee!!!

Aryn stayed until this morning and yesterday Kevin and the kids arrived.  Its so good to have my kids around!  Its comforting to say the least.  I don't ever ever ever want to go through pain like that again.  Its kind of scary what extreme pain over a couple of weeks can do to your brain!

(MONDAY)  This morning Kevin got a pretty frantic call from Tandy.  She had gone downstairs in their old house they rent in Penticton to discover that white mould had crept over all their stored boxes down there.  She is pretty convinced that that mould is what is making her sick.

So Kevin packed up the kids and skedaddled out of here to go home and remove everything from their basement.  The landlord will have to get some mould experts in.  Its not like they can just up and move...there is 0 rental in Penticton.

Well I am gearing up for the doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon.  I will get the drain removed and then I can be done with this whole rotten episode.  I have a few questions for the doc though.  How the hell did this happen?  I want to know.

So now off to bed.  I am going to take a picture of our ridiculous garden tomorrow.  Wait til you see how insanely it is overgrown.  We simply couldn't keep up with it!  TTYL

I'M BETTER!!!!

Somehow, someway, by some miracle or
Sharri's prayers, I turned a corner in the night.  This morning I woke up and was able to actually sit up without excruciating pain. It was such a shock.

Apparently yesterday during the day they got some cultures back (and don't even ask how they got those), realized that my bacteria was resistant to the antibiotic they were using and switched it.  It worked.  So another day or two and Imma outta here!!!!

Jeez...there is a lady in the corner, a patient in bed 4, who is snoring like a trucker.  That woman can sleep through everything.  I hate her.  She is three years younger than me, weighs about 100 pounds more, had a knee operation (but you'd think they had cut her leg off but left the nerves there) and can't accurately use a bed pan to save her life.  Her name is Ruth and she is a bible thumping, church going dogooder. She has the hospital priest come in and pray, sprinkle holy water, and bless her leg everyday.

She has this awesome gorgeous daughter in law with a two week baby, and twin two year olds.  That girl, whilst breast feeding and wrangling twins, helps Ruth clean herself, remake the bed around her, clean her area, get her coffees etc....  She is exactly the type of person one needs to come visit.

Well the minute her friends show up, and she seems to have a lot of them which amazes me, she starts badmouthing the daughter-in-law.  Apparently she doesn't bath the children every night, like Ruth always did with her children, she doesn't make them sit at the table to do their art work like Ruth always did with hers, she runs around doing so much good works, dragging the kids with her, Ruth would never have done that.  What a cow!!!  And she lowers her voice and leans in and whispers in a conspirator voice.

So yesterday she was on the phone going on and on and on about what an awful mother her d-i-law is.  Her curtain, as usual was closed.  Shortly after she hung up a nurse came in and opened the curtain prepping to do something with her.  When she left I spied her and said, "A lady came in to see you.  I think, not sure, but I think it was your daughter in law.  But when she heard you on the phone she waited to see if you were almost finished but I think she decided she didn't like to interrupt you so she left."  Shit you should have seen the look on her face!   Hahahahahaha!!!!

The old dude across from me had a toe removed and has other problems, not the least of which is a prostate size issue.  Consequently he has to be catheterized twice a day.  He keeps asking every nurse that comes along, "Have you put that calliper in yet?"  He falls at least once every other day.  I hate that sound of human body hitting the deck.  He just kind of lays there and we yell, "Shit George!!!  Are you alright?"  After a minute or two you here a low laconic,  "yeeeeeep"  Then in come the storm troopers and scoop him up, give him heck for getting out of bed by himself, and plant him back there.

Well, time to organize my emails from the escrow in Maui.  My darling daughter Arnie is on her way up here to take over all of that.  Using her POA for me, she will be able to do everything.  She will even go to Maui for me.  I am going to phone westjet and get her a ticket and bank mine.  TTYL

PAIN....FUCKING SICK OF IT...PARDON MY FRENCH

It hurts, all the time.  The hydromorphon gives me a lovely high, but only helps the pain for about an hour.

Now my right side is so swollen I can't bend.  It looks ridiculous.  Probably more drains and tons of antibiotics and tons of hydromorphan.

Jocelyn just dropped in.  I love visiting with her.  She is so my type of person.  And Cookie's sister Annette's daughter Justine stopped in yesterday.  Justine is becoming a lab tech and is doing a few months stint here in the Kamloops hospital.  What a beautiful and lovely person she is!  We are going to get Mamma Sidhu over here and we are going to go to the casino!  Mamma Sidhu can give me casino lessons!  But only if she really wants to.

So now I am off to bed.  The only way to not worry about things is to sleep.  TTYL

IRONIC

I can't believe that so shortly after writing that whole post about blogging every day I once again am five days since blogging.  My apologies!

I have been in and out of the hospital and in the kind of excruciating pain that just shouldn't happen.  I was doing just fine, in fact most the pain from my operation was gone.

Then Saturday morning early, a terrible pain on my lower right side woke me up.  By Sat. aft. I could hardly walk.  Kathy, bless her heart, took me down to emergency and after a long wait I finally saw a dr.  I had a cat scan and it came out perfect.  So they didn't know what it was.  Sent me home with pain killers.

Two days later I couldn't walk at all and the pain was out of control.  So this time Monte called an ambulance and I went down.  Long story short this doctor thinks I have a small hernia.  He did say it is an extremely painful condition.  Jeez you can say that again!  Sent home again with morphine, which doesn't really work on me.  I haven't started to take it yet.  I'm finishing up pain meds the first doc gave me.

So now I lay here, dreading the next bathroom stop and trying not to feel like this is going to go on forever.  I have to be better by the twentieth of July to go to Maui.  If anyone out there has heard of this and has advice please feel free to educate me!

I shall attempt to keep this updated!  TTYL
