THE DOWNSIDE OF DYING

All the fun is over, everyone has gone home, the house is put back in order, quiet descends...and the paperwork starts.

First thing this morning we hopped down to the funeral home and picked Mom up.  It was decided that she would come home with me.  So now she is on the back seat of the truck...one more road trip for her.  Bill keeps having inappropriate conversations with her.

Kathy, Stan and I then went to the lawyer and ironed out the duties we will have to execute...most of which we did today.  Some of it has to wait until after 2013 taxes are done.  We took care of the federal pension stuff and we tried to get some of the other stuff done but there is always that one last thing you need before you can get it done finally.

It has been a very good few days with the family.  We have had a lot of fun and lots of tears and a lot of memories and 'Mildred' stories.  Kathy made a very good point in her little spoken part at the funeral.  All of Mom's worldly goods has whittled down to a couple of boxes but her bigger than life spirit will live on in a huge way in all our memories and experiences with her.

Now its time to pack up and head home...a little more complicated than before the move.  Also we are going to go via Princeton to make sure all is ready for this weekend.

This weekend twenty intrepid crazy ladies are going to descend upon a lodge near Princeton and have the now famous "Womens' Retreat"  So I need to get my duff home and plan a whole lot of food out, go shopping, cook up a couple of dishes, maybe bake some cookies, wash my clothes and pack yet another suitcase and head out by Friday.  I am going to go to the lodge via North Vancouver and pick up April and two of her friends.  I will then swing by Chilliwack and pick up my cousin Heather and head up to the lodge.  I can't wait to get laughing til our guts hurt, eat until our guts hurt, and drink until our guts hurt.  CAN'T WAIT!!!  TTYL
HA HA.....I STUFFED YOU!!!
