COOKIE DAY THREE

Its hot hot hot!!!!!  Its only 8 am and we are cooking.  Brian is out cleaning the car.  If it weren't for him our car would be sinking in filth.  Cookie is in the shower.  Bill is in bed sleeping.  I woke up at 3 am and simply could not go back to sleep.  I thought I would write out the plan for the day and we will see tonight how close we stuck to it.  Hilo Hatties's, Ace Hardware, Denny's for brunch, Botanical garden, Lavender Farm.  Its a good day to go upcountry where its cooler.

As we were sitting here this morning we noticed a cop go up to an upper condo just above us.  Based on some of what we overheard it was to do with the guy that lived up there before.  He was a straight up pedophile.  We did notice that an extraordinary amount of very young teen girls were always coming and going and he was a fat ugly 60 yr old with a cane.  Turns out he was giving them drugs in exchange for letting him take pictures, which he in turn sold on the internet.  He got busted and Don (our tough manager) gave him the boot...hard.  So...we are jumping to the conclusion it had something to do with that.  But if I know Don, he will have found out by now and will tell us!  MMM   gossip!

Okay, 33 degrees is just too hot.  Even up the hill today we were cooking.  Well we didn't get to either Hilo Hattie's or Ace hardware.  But we did get to Denny's.  Mmmmmmm  egg white spinach omelet, turkey bacon and fruit.  The others had pancakes, and potato/chorizo skillets :(..And my blood sugar is still sitting at 19.  And now its dinner time and I don't even think I am hungry anymore.   Thats a change!

We left Denny's and headed straight up to the botanical gardens.  Today, in the sunshine, the garden looked so totally different.  It was full of flowers and colour and jacksons.  So we strolled up to the top and listened to the birds, and a loud batch of Asians and took a zillion pics.  Brian has Cook's old camera and was clicking away like a pro.  He is so cute.  We took a couple of inappropriate pictures and had a good laugh.

From there we hit the lavender farm.  There are just so many freaking people still on this island.  We were talking and complaining about it (well I was complaining) and we suddenly realized that it is still Alberta's spring break.  So......Maybe by Monday they will be gone!  The farm was truly lovely, if a little hot.  We had our obligatory lavender coffee and Bill and Brian had a lavender scone.  It was so pretty.  I love it there.

We then decided to go to Macy's in the big mall.  So down we went and into the mall and we forced the boys to go elsewhere and Cook and I headed into the ladies section.  We had a good look around and through the mall, but given that its an open air mall, it was just too hot, at least for me.  We left and headed up to the Plantation, which was quiet and predictable.  Then we came home and cooked up some opa, rice and veggies.  Mmmm.....the opa was so good.  I bbq'ed it with miso and basil.  Now they have gone for a walk and I am blogging.  I feel it is probably going to be another one of those super early nights.  We haven't even played one round of nine hole golf yet!  Anywhooo, here are todays offerings:
