COOKIE DAY TWO

It was 92 degrees yesterday and 82 today.  Tonite its muggy and no breeze whatsoever.

Last night we walked down to the beach and watched a pretty pathetic sunset.  Jeez!  But we had a great little walk.  We had a yummy dinner and we were all headed to bed by 8 o'clock.  Again..pathetic!

We were all up pretty early this morning, (no kidding), Cookie getting up at 5:30.  It's hard to adjust to the 3 hour difference.  We mozied around, had breakfast and got ready for the day.  What we planned and what actually happened were two different things.

First we drove out to the new wind farm out past the winery.  A long way along the edge of earth road, my personal favourite.  Its so beautiful along the way.  We passed many full bloom jacaranda trees with their full round of purple flowers, so beautiful.  We pulled off at the wind farm and walked about a little and took some pictures.  We then headed back  the way we came and stopped off at Gramma's for lunch.  Yummy sandwiches, great coffee, a million and two flies, and a kitty joined us at table for ......his preference, Bill's sauerkraut from his rueben sandwich..go figure!  We then headed for the botanical gardens, but due to lack of sun we decided to just do one of our fave drives up above Makawao.

You drive through eucalyptus trees, the most amazing trees to see.  They lose their bark and under that bark is the most amazing colours and patterns.  Cook and I hopped out of the car a couple of times to get pictures.  In fact we may just go back up there!  Pretty astounding trees.

We then drove down towards town, passing through and stopping at Rainbow Park, a personal favourite of Bill's and mine.  That is the place I have mentioned before that I just can't seem to get any good pictures there.  Its so beautiful and picturesque but my pics never turn out well.  I keep trying though!  We then went on to Turtle Beach.  The waves were spectacular and a herd of turtles were showing themselves.  We spent a very long time trying to get pics of them.  Not easy.

A couple of fun and one not so fun things happened.  You will see when you look at the pics!
